The gold rush

Being the implementation of richness, the gold ruined not only the human lives but also the artworks and real masterpieces. From ancient times people made religious and aristocratic decorations and accessories of gold that later became the works of art, history and culture. Unfortunately many people consider them to be only the precious metal.
Ancient precious jewels were found all over the world and at once they became the aim of burglars and those who wanted to enrich their pockets. And the destiny of some golden things that were the masterpieces is unknown. And it proves another time that gold is always the object of desire.
The treasure found in the tomb of Tutankhamun. The jewels made of gold have no price because they are the most valuable ones. But Tutankhamun was not rather famous figure and died being young. And we can only guess what treasure died when burglars robbed the great tombs of Ramesses II and Thutmose III. Nowadays it is possible to get million of dollars for kilograms of gold. But what this gold means in compare with the mask of Tutankhamun that is made of these kilograms of gold.
The problem of humanity was that it lost the real masterpieces because of avidity. So many artworks made of gold and other precious metals were melted to sale the gold.
The most ancient money was made of gold and it was the most precious metal. And nowadays it is the most precious metal also. That is why people always wanted to have more and more gold. In fact the modern paper money is the substitution of gold, because this metal was too heavy to use it. But still every country keeps the gold reserve in the central banks.
The golden jewellery costs a lot. And sometimes people give everything they have to buy the golden ring or the golden chain. And there are a lot of traditions connected with gold in all parts of the world. For example, according to beliefs of some countries, you'll be lucky if you found the golden coin. Another tradition says that the wedding rings of newlyweds must be made of gold. And it is not occasionally that such traditions appeared because gold was always precious and valuable metal.
